Hotspots is a cooperative board game in which players take the role of department managers within a company. Each round issues will pop up that will escalate if players do not address them in time. This game is part of seminars organized by Adventif to let managers experience the advantages of inter-departmental cooperation as opposed to competition. The ruleset is very basic. The way the player decides to play makes all the difference and can be compared to other instances of the game.

I modelled the game mechanics and calculated the game dynamics in order to make sure that players are equally powerful and the game’s difficulty is set to the optimal challenge.
